Bio:Growing up in a small town in New Jersey, Jim Wright never envisioned a life outside of suburbia and was quite content spending his summers at the Jersey Shore, surfing, hanging out with friends, and helping his mother out (on the quiet) with her dressmaking business by becoming her human mannequin. You would have thought that this would be the perfect training for a career in fashion design, and that's what Jim thought too, enrolling himself in that very course at Drexel University in Philadelphia. However fate intervened and his professor noticed his natural talent in one of the course modules, photography, leading Jim to quit his college and enroll at the Art Institute of Philadelphia. Once Jim picked up the camera, he never put it down, spending every summer taking snapshots of his friends surfing. It was his love of surfing (and his hatred of the East Coast winters) that took Jim, with only a few dollars in his pocket, to California where he got a lucky break and landed a job assisting with famed photographer Peggy Sirota. After 5 years assisting and much world travel he started shooting solo. Jim has shot many celebrities from Jay-Z to Ellen DeGeneres. Whilst his advertising and celebrity work keep him from becoming a starving artist, it is his passion for surfing, travel and Bruce Springsteen's music that really inspire him. After all, you can take the boy out of New Jersey but you can't take the New Jersey out of the boy.
