Bio: Michael Schnabel was born in 1966 in Neunkirchen, Germany and studied photography at the Fachhochschule Darmstadt from 1988-1994. His work was most recently seen in solo shows at Galerie Photonet in Wiesbaden ("Museums at Night," 2009) and Galerie Esther Woerdehoff in Paris ("Michael Schnabel," 2008). Michael has also had solo shows at Galerie Photonet in Wiesbaden ("Waterscapes," 2007), Galerie Widmer + Theodoridis in Zurich, Nachtarbeiten, Visual Gallery, Photokina, Cologne and Fotoforum Bozen in Italy ("Stille Berge," 2006); and groups shows including Prix de la Photographie, at Farmani Gallery in New York ("Waterscapes," 2009) and Stadtische Galerie Ludenscheid, Les Arts Decoratifs at musee de la Publicite in Paris ("Stille Landschaften," 2008). In 2009 Michael received the European architectural Photoprize, World Photographers Award Shortlist, a nomination for AOP Awards, and Prix de la Photographie PX 3 Water competition in Paris. He also received the ADC NY 2x Merit Award in 2008 along with the ADC Germany Award, World Photographers Award Shortlist, and AOP Bronze. 

 Since 1996 Michael's works have been featured in Lurzer's Archive und Graphis Photo Annuals. Michael's work has been published in London's Image Magazine ("Michael Schnabel: In Depth," Issue 386) and Pool ("Stille Berge" Portfolio and Interview, No. 19). ORF TV featured Michael with an interview and portrait in 2006, and Stille Landschaften, Museen der Stadt Ludenscheid, an exhibition catalogue, published his work in 2008. Michael is an Assistant Professor Merz Academy, Art School and Visiting Professor for Photography, University Darmstadt. He currently lives and works nearby Stuttgart, Germany.
