Nick&Chloe photograph pro skater Stevie Williams for the New Era Flagbearer series. Brooklyn Brothers in New York commissioned the photography team to create portraits of local LA heroes. New Era chose musicians, artists, athletes, and writers with individual styles and who are making a difference and changing perceptions. Once homeless, Williams is now a pro skater, the founder of DGK, a skateboard design company, and a media mogul.

Justin Hollar photographs the Spring 2011 campaign for Americanino DENIM. The Colombian-based brand is known for their trendy and functional designs aimed at 18 to 25 year olds in Colombia and Latin America. The campaign is called “Paint the World Denim.” It encourages fans to promote the brand through social media sites like Facebook and Twitter. Hollar photographed models in the brand’s clothing on locations in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. The jeans, leather jackets, and basic t-shirts are worn in casual and relaxed settings showing the clothes as easy and wearable.

Emily Nathan captures the San Francisco food collective OPENrestaurant for the March/April issue of Vogue Australia Living. The project was started by Stacie Pierce, Jerome Waag, and Sam White, all part of the Chez Panisse restaurant staff. It mixes the avant garde art scene with the organic and sustainable food culture of the Bay Area. OPENrestaurant explores issues around food and society by turning the restaurant into an artistic medium and making it available to cooks, farmers, artists, and activists. The collective meets one night every few months to enjoy local food and to discuss a specific issue.

Joel Micah Millerhas been chosen as one of PDN’s 30 2011. The annual issue profiles 30 new and emerging photographers and a selection of their work. Over 70 photo editors, curators, educators, publishers, art directors, reps and photographers helped to narrow down the roughly 300 photographers who submitted work to the final 30. This year’s selection all share a commitment to experimenting and refining their work as well as a personal style that is reflected in their photographs.

Sergio Kurhajec collaborates with Eileen Fisher for the third time, capturing their Spring 2011 advertising campaign. He previously shot their Spring 2010 and Fall 2010 campaigns. The goal was to capture the clothing line’s Spring collection in a fresh and new light. Kurhajec updates the simple and clean style of the Fall 2010 campaign and while maintaining the Eileen Fisher aesthetic.

Gary Baseman will exhibit his first solo show in New York City in six years at Jonathan LeVine Gallery, starting this week. “Walking Through Walls”, Baseman’s exploration of breaking through imposed limitations and boundaries in society and the world, opens on March 5th. Baseman explores this concept with the use of collage and silkscreen in his paintings.
