Henry Obasi creates twelve original illustrations of athletes for Nike’s worldwide campaign. The illustrations are part of Nike’s Fall/Holiday visuals and feature on catalog covers, showroom graphics, and event materials worldwide. The twelve athletes cover disciplines from soccer, track and field, tennis, and basketball. All illustrations were executed in grey scale.
Emily Nathan photographs spring fashion trends for Ritz-Carlton Magazine’s Spring 2011 issue. The quarterly publication recently re-launched with a new design and a new focus on luxury, fashion, and lifestyle. For their Spring 2011 issue, the magazine wanted to capture the both the iconic and old San Francisco and the new and fresh San Francisco. The city’s many juxtapositions are reflected in the clothes and the locations.

French sensation Zahia Dehar is launching a new lingerie brand. To promote the line, Zahia and her team commissioned Nick & Chloe to create a short but provocative film, “Zahia Dehar Striptease in the Cat Cave.” In the film, Zahia dances around one of the chateau’s stately rooms and performs a seductive striptease that brings to life even a supposedly inanimate cathead sculpture. Nick & Chloe successfully challenged themselves to blend their poetic and slightly edgy style with Zahia’s fairytale-inspired aesthetic in the film’s pink fantasy theme.
Brian Doben photographs the casts of classic tv shows The Cosby Show, The Facts of Life, Family Ties, and Welcome Back, Kotter for People magazine. The casts reunited at the 2011 TV Land Awards and were photographed backstage by Doben. People’s original concept for the shoot was for the casts to be photographed as if they were in a photo booth. However, instead of the usual white background, a darker background and larger set was used to make the images more dynamic.
Mindi Smith styles the cover and an eight page spread in the May 2011 issue of Junior Magazine. The UK-based magazine covers fashion, entertainment, and education for parents and their children. The shoot is inspired by the street style blog “The Sartorialist” and shows the boys as if they had been stopped on the street while they were going about their day. Smith styled eight young boys in eight different looks. The boys wear brightly colored preppy blazers, stripes, and checks and each boy’s outfit is meant to reflect his personality. The models were captured in different backdrops on Bedford Avenue in Williamsburg, Brooklyn.
Every year the Newport Beach Film Festival brings together over 350 filmmakers from 40 countries to showcase their work on the big screens. This year, a select group of artists, including B&A’s Henry Obasi,Mick Marston, Shotopop, and Sara Hayward, were commissioned by agency RPA to create bespoke artwork to celebrate the festival. Artists were asked to interpret the 24 letters that make up the festival’s name in their own style.
Henry Bourne captures Susan Tolson, the wife of the U.S. Ambassador to France and Monaco, at Hôtel de Pontalba in Paris for the April issue of Harper’s Bazaar. The grand 6,000-square-foot mansion has been the official residence of the ambassador since the 1970s. It features a ballroom, a cinema-sized screening room, a kitchen with three chefs, gilded salons, and a state dining room that seats 120. True to its name, it often plays host to traveling dignitaries and statesmen.
Rolling Stone has updated their list of the 100 Greatest Artists of All Time in a special collector’s edition. The original list was published in 2004 as part of Rolling Stone’s yearlong celebration of the 50th birthday of rock & roll. For the new 2011 edition, Olaf Hajek, Nathan Fox, and Chris Kasch contributed illustrations of 7 of the artists on the list.
Converse is bringing attention to their lesser-known Star Chevron brand with a citywide block party. To promote the party, Am I Collective worked with Wieden + Kennedy Shanghai to create a launch video. The video encourages Converse fans to go online and vote for their city to be the party’s host.
Brian Doben has been capturing Nashville’s famous recording artists for over a decade. His photographs of Keith Urban, Lady Antebellum, Taylor Swift, and Reba McEntire among others have been featured in People and People Country Stars magazines on several occasions. For his latest project, Doben has shifted his focus to the city’s up-and-coming talents. “Project Nashville” captures musicians who are making the journey towards stardom and hoping for fame like their predecessors.
Stuart Hall has spent the past two years capturing glacial melting in Greenland. The project is a continuation of previous work in which he had photographed the glacial melting in Iceland. A 2010 article by Click Green on record ice cap melting in Greenland inspired Hall. Researchers from the University of St Andrews, the University of Aberystwyth and Ohio State University had monitored the breakup of a large portion of the region’s largest glacier, likely caused by climate changes. Hall wanted to record the icebergs that had broken away.

The Selby travels to Tulum, Mexico for the latest installment of Edible Selby in T Magazine’s Spring Travel issue. The Selby captured Mya Henry and Eric Werner at their restaurant Hartwood and at the local farmer’s market, Valladolid. Henry and Werner opened the restaurant last December and describe it as “Mexican farmhouse rustic.” All of the restaurant’s ingredients are natural and fresh and sourced locally in the Yucatán Peninsula. Werner “Americanizes” some of the dishes by adding personal touches on local ingredients. The Selby features three of their best recipes, for whole roasted fish, whole roasted red snapper and octopulpo salad, pictured here below, in his famous hand-written Q&As.
