The Selby debuts a new short film on artist Tom Sachs. “Tom Sachs, A Selby Film” features the sculptor at work in his studio, Allied Cultural Prosthetics, in downtown New York City. Sachs is well known for his elaborate recreations of modern icons, such as a McDonalds he built out of plywood, glue, and assorted kitchen appliances. In the video he describes his interest in the phenomena of consumerism, branding and the cultural fetishization of products. Sachs also describes himself as very process and detail oriented, even going so far as to show off his dedication to knolling, a method of organization that involves arranging similar objects at 90 degree angles.

Shotopop won two awards for their collaboration with sportswear company ANTA at this year’s Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity and Awards. Working closely with Shanghai based photographer Jonathan Tay and the team at CliqAsia the duo were able to fabricate an integrated instore and poster campaign. The design studio and JWT Shanghai wereThe final work was awarded two Bronzes, one in Outdoor and one in Design for their creative cardboard cutouts promoting ANTA’s footwear for basketball players. The festival was held June 19th through 25th in Cannes.

Tristan Eaton exhibited 17 paintings at SCOPE Art Basel. The annual art fair features innovative, contemporary art work from around the world. This year’s fair was located in the historic Kaseme district, just blocks from Art Basel 42. Eaton’s paintings were exhibited along with artwork from two other artists in Contra Projects’ booth.

Jitesh Patel creates fresh 3D artwork for yogurt brand Alpina’s new “Make a Wish for Women” campaign.Vitro commissioned Patel to create the artwork for posters and window displays, one of which is an interactive storefront on Park Avenue in New York City. The campaign is an uplifting way to debut the brand’s new Restart yogurt. Alpina is inviting women to support each other by posting positive messages online, either on Facebook or Twitter.
