Qube Konstrukt collaborates with Saatchi LA to create the Toyota Camry Effect. The website collects personal stories and preferences from Toyota Camry owners. Users fill out a questionnaire, through multiple-choice questions, and their answers calculate a visual representation of their Camry Effect. Their experience can be shared on social media networks and are cataloged on the Camry Effect site with real-time dynamic data visualization.

The Selby visits Chicago restaurant Next for his latest Edible Selby column for T Magazine. The newly opened restaurant changes its entire concept every three months. Chef Grant Achatz and partner Nick Kokonas turned down offers to replicate the success of their restaurant Alinea and instead created Next. While Alinea is about constant innovation and creativity, Next is about constant exploration of global cuisine.

A familiar face on the New York fashion circuit, Bobette has just moved to the New York of the China – Shanghai! She’s just finished her first shoot here for a DKNY advertorial for Vogue China (see full blog post to see the story) where she worked with local photographer Tinghu Yu. “After working and styling the looks with the Donna Karen Team in New York, I was able to bring over their brand with a new and fresh approach for the Chinese market. This was effectively conveyed through the brilliant photography of Tinghu, and brought to life by super model Emma Pei. Overall a brilliant first project in China!” says Bobette. “It was an excellent experience,” comments Elaine Young, “I’m looking forward to future collaborations in China.”

Michael Schnabel exhibits his first solo show at the Osthaus Museum in Hagen, Germany. The show features a total of 52 works from the past decade. Photographs from Schnabel’s most well known series “Nightscapes,” are part of the show. The series includes images of mountains, ocean waves, and most recently museum interiors, taken at night. The newer works portray how art pieces are lighted and rest at nighttime.

Gillian Laub photographs teenage girls in the West Bank settlement of Ma’ale Levona for Tablet. “Girls at War” portrays of five young female settlers, part of the new generation of settlers who have become active in the radical politics of the settlement. Before they marry and have children, they fight and help defend the land of their home. They attend Ulpana Levona High school whose motto is “Where settler girls go to become ‘real men.’”

In addition she captured several children for a fashion spread in the October issue of Elle France. Both shoots took place on locations in Paris, France.

The ever quirky Andrew Rae created a Moon Dude where you can put a special Mid-Autumn wish into his head, Shotopop made their own spin off of the Monkey King complete with story authored by the pair and Belgium duo Eugene and Louise crafted the sweetest, smily-est Mooncake Man you’ll ever see.

John Hendrix, Yuko Shimizu, and Gary Baseman are among a celebrated list of illustrators showcasing their work for Rolling Stone at The Society of Illustrators in New York City. “Rolling Stone and the Art of the Record Review” includes over 80 original illustrations commissioned for the Record Review column of the magazine. The art spans over four decades and represents music legends such as The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Bruce Springsteen, Whitney Houston, and Bob Dylan. The exhibit will also include rock and roll memorabilia and ephemera on loan from the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Ohio.

Stephen Wilkes exhibits his series “Day to Night” at ClampArt Gallery in New York, opening tonight. The series includes eight photographs of New York City locations taken over the course of 10-15 hours from the same perspective, as the camera remained stationary. It is the first time the photographs will be exhibited together as a series.

Fashion’s Night Out, the after-hours shopping event, returns for a third year this Thursday, September 8th. The global initiative is sponsored by Vogue and the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) and was first put on in New York back in 2009. It expanded around the US and the globe the following year. For one night only, retailers stay open late and throw parties and offer giveaways in the hope of getting people to shop. Jeremyville, Stockton Johnson, Kareem Black, and Tes One lend their talents this year to the events.
