Elena Dorfman photographs the cover of the Spring 2012 issue of Johns Hopkins University Magazine(JHU). This is the magazine’s first issue after a recent redesign. Dorfman photographed Lorin Stein, a Johns Hopkins graduate, who is now the fourth editor of the Paris Review. Stein makes the case to theJHU that literary magazines still matter. Dorfman photographed Stein and his staff at their offices in New York City. She say they were “enthusiastic and fun,” during the shoot.

Sam Robinson photographs the new global campaign for Lufthansa. The airline is transforming itself from a focus on business travel to serving everyone. The campaign introduces their new look and their new slogan “Nonstop You” which features a greater importance on the customer. Robinson was commissioned by Kolle Rebbe to create the imagery for the campaign.

March Madness is in full swing and Ilovedust is getting in on the action with Nike/RGA and their #RiseAsOne campaign. Ilovedust is creating original illustrations for the winning teams and their most fanatic fans on Twitter during the month-long college basketball tournament. The design studio enhances the team’s mascots with intensity and action. For the first half of the tournament, Ilovedust joined Nike in Mission Control in Portland, Oregon, following the action on Twitter and putting together the illustrations at rapid speed. The design team is spending the second half of the tournament with Nike in New York.

Rizon Parein collaborates with Saatchi LA on the campaign for the new Toyota Prius c. “The Game of Life with Prius c” highlights the features of the carmaker’s latest hybrid using the classic board game Life. The Hasbro game is about growing up, starting a career, buying a car and a house, and starting a family. The campaign is aimed at Generation Y-ers and is meant to appeal to first-time car buyers. The new Toyota Prius c is smaller than previous models and reasonably well priced.

The Selby photographs the rustic interior and menu of Brooklyn restaurant Isa for his latest Edible Selby column for T Magazine. The woodsy eatery has stripped-down interiors with exposed tree branches and piles of firewood. The menu features tapas-sized dishes and entrees, such as raw scallops with apple and celery and beef tartare with smoked oil and juniper berries. Taavo Somer, the architect behind Freemans in downtown New York, and Ignacio Mattos, the former chef of Il Buco, run the restaurant. Both use the word “primitive” to describe the food and the space. The Selby photographed Somer and Mattos as they prepared meals and the menu. He also added one of his signature drawings, this one of a caveman, as a nod to the restaurant’s simple theme.

Last year, School of Seven Bells (SVIIB) toured the country to promote their album Disconnect From Desire. Justin Hollar traveled with the band, documenting their journey over 9,000 miles of landscape. He captured band members Alejandra Deheza and Benjamin Curtis on stage, in hotel rooms, and on the streets of the various cities they visited. His photographs have now been published in a new behind-the-scenes book.

Rod Hunt creates a colorful, new interactive map for the Circle Line. The cruise line is the only one exclusively dedicated to sightseeing. The boat does a full-island circumnavigation of Manhattan and offers magnificent views of the skyline year-round. Hunt created the new 2012-2013 interactive online version and the print version, available in tourist centers and hotels around the city. The map displays the boat’s route as well as landmarks such as The Empire State Building, The Statue of Liberty, and Yankee Stadium.

Douglas Friedman captures the latest trends in eyewear for Vogue Italia’s March issue. The special section “Wild Eyes” features polished and stylish sunglasses from Marchon Eyewear’s Spring/Summer collection. The models pose in designs by Diane von Furstenberg, Pucci, Michael Kors, Calvin Klein, and more. Exotic animals, such as a savannah cat, a snake, and a giraffe, accompany the models. The shoot was art directed by the magazine’s editor-in-chief, Franca Sozzani.

Nomoco illustrates the new campaign for Kellogg’s Special K. The cereal is marketed as low-fat and reportedly promotes weight loss. The campaign’s tagline reads, “What will you gain when you lose?” Elements in nature such as a peacock and red fish are drawn to imply confidence, courage, and optimism. Nomoco says that she thought of nature when drawing, “its gracefulness and deep energy within living creatures.” The colorful illustrations were drawn with ink on paper.

The Selby captures the stylish Caroline de Maigret at home in Paris for Madewell’s latest catalog. De Maigret, a record producer, models clothing from the cult brand’s new spring collection in a special section called “French Lessons.” The idea was to capture de Maigret embodying spring’s undone chic mood in a natural way. The Selby shot her in trends such as vintage-inspired accessories, stripes, neutrals, and boyish silhouettes.

Alexa Singer photographs the 2012 calendar for Hansgrohe. The eco-friendly company produces beautifully designed fixtures for the bathroom and kitchen. This year’s calendar is called “A Sense of Water.” The title reflects water conditions in Namibia, which are dry for most of the year followed by a heavy rain season. The calendar is printed in a limited edition, and a portion of the proceeds will go towards supporting Khaudum National Park in Namibia, as well as ensuring a sustainable water supply in the country.

Flores photographed the models swimming, lounging, and tanning in the beautiful sun. The concept was to show how the brand’s casual separates and swimwear reflect the southern California life.

Black photographed New York Giants wide receiver Victor Cruz for the cover and a five page spread in Page Six Magazine, which was styled by Emma Pritchard. For ESPN Magazine, Black photographed up-and-coming NASCAR driver Darrell Wallace Jr. for their “Next” issue. He also shot rapper Machine Gun Kelly for the recent cover of Inked Magazine.

Gillian Laub photographs the cover story for the latest issue of the Sunday The New York Times Magazine. The feature examines the medical oddity of twitching in a number of girls in the working-class town of Le Roy, New York. Despite numerous tests and doctors, no one is quite sure what is causing the twitches and tics in the young girls. Laub traveled to the town to photograph several of the girls in their homes. She also captured Le Roy, once a prosperous manufacturing town, in its current state.
