Thornberg & Forester collaborate with Razorfish on the new Samsung Galaxy S III campaign. The new smart phone features a touch screen, increased storage, wireless charging, and a voice assistance program. The design team was selected by Razorfish to create 2D and 3D assets and animation for the campaign launch.

In May, Ruud Baan flew to China to shoot Nike China‘s latest retail and press campaign featuring an array of Olympic athletes including Zhang Xi and Xue Chen (beach volleyball) and Yi Jian Lian and Zhu Fang Yu (basketball). During the four day shoot, Ruud captured the athletes in action doing their signature moves. Currently the press kit photos are out and the final retail shots (with more sport categories) will be released in Nike China stores nationwide and Taiwan starting August 27th.

Jason Bruges Studio transforms an underused section of London’s Southbank Centre. The design studio was commissioned by Havells-Sylvania, the lighting arm of India’s largest lighting and electrical manufacturer, to create an original piece for the space. The piece, “The 21st Century Light Space Modulator” will be located under the Hungerford Bridge, which gets upwards of 22 million visitors a year.

Art meets action in a collaboration between Tristan Eaton and international soccer superstar and current Red Bulls forward Thierry Henry. Henry used his soccer talents to unveil a 24 x 21 foot mural created by Eaton at Madison Square Garden this past Friday in front of an audience of thousands. From 30 feet out, Henry struck the ball at five targets that launched a series of triggers and objects-in-motion that produced and revealed a work of art inspired by the Red Bulls and the city of New York.

Olaf Hajek’s second monograph, Black Antoinette: The Work of Olaf Hajek, launches today. The book is a collection of Hajek’s most recent work created over the last three years. Inside the artwork is mostly editorial contracts and commercial portraits and melds his influences from West African and Latin American art. Dr. Philipp Demandt, the head of Berlin’s Old National Gallery, wrote the preface.
