With everything from designing some pretty awesome t-shirts to filling up the KARL pop-up stores floor to ceiling with great design, I Love Dust has been working with Karl Lagerfeld quite often these past couple of months on his self-titled line, KARL. We asked the team if Mr. Lagerfeld has told I Love Dust any good (or bad) jokes since they’ve been collaborating. We’re still waiting to hear back for the full story and can’t promise that we will… but are pretty sure it has something to do with a mouse.

Douglas Friedman is not an easy person to impress. “I’m such a jaded traveler, because I’ve been so many incredible places. I wasn’t expecting to be so enchanted by somewhere new,” says Friedman. However, when traveling through out Morocco to cities like Marrakesh, Essaouira, Fez and Tangier with DuJour Magazine it’s hard not to feel like your traveling through a storybook.

Michael Flores shot the launch campaign for the Seven Bar Foundation’s new Empowered by Youunderwear collection. Designed by the former Polo Ralph Lauren Blue Label senior design director and recently featured in WWD, $1 from each panty’s sale will go to the foundation, it’s mission to enable “an underprivileged woman to spearhead her own business and rise out of poverty via microfinance.”

The Audi A3 gets a sleek and stylish upgrade for 2012. Emir Haveric captured the updated model for the car company’s new campaign. The car features an intuitive MMI touch system and the ultra-lightweight technology. The minimalist silver and red set was built from scratch with a stone wall and hundreds of meters of flooring. Haveric says of the shoot, “Great team, very cool people from the agency and very relaxed client who trusted us.”

In the competition for best dressed at the 2012 London Olympics, the Jamaican team was the clear winner.Harris Elliott styled the athletes in uniforms designed by Cedella Marley, daughter of the late Bob, in collaboration with Puma and Droga5. The brightly colored clothes honor the designs and colors (green, black, and gold) of the Jamaican flag. The uniforms especially stood out on Usain Bolt, who confirmed his legacy as the fastest man alive at this year’s games.

For ESPN Magazine’s special college football preview issue Jamie Chung had the pleasure of photographing eight live animal mascots: four dogs, a hog, a tiger, a rooster, and an eagle. A self described animal lover, Mr. Chung spent about two weeks driving around the American South with a mini studio to shoot these college mascots, mostly owned by private citizens. The LSU tiger proved to be quite a challenge for our Jamie — he had to carefully capture the untamed animal through its enclosure. With the help ofESPN’s Senior Photo Editor Jim Surber, Jamie was able to produce a series of poignant, amusing, and magical animal portraits.

Jason Madara debuts a new portfolio of photographs based on California’s top lawyers. “The Lawmen” portraits are from a fifteen-day commercial shoot Madara completed at Hanson-Bridgett law firm in Northern California. At first glance the photographs appear to be classic corporate portraits. The lawyers are all wearing suits and sitting at a nondescript table. However, with Madara’s choices in how the portraits were composed—cropping frames in close, showing the lawyers’ hands, capturing a few in portrait—the images take on new life.

Emily Nathan photographs coastal fashion for the Summer 2012 issue of Ritz-Carlton Magazine. The ten-page spread was inspired by the area’s earth and sea tones. The shoot took place at the Ritz-Carlton in Half Moon Bay, California. Half Moon Bay featured a wide expanse of settings including manicured lawns, rugged cliffs, and the hotel’s own room side fire pits.

HAZE collaborates with Nike on an installation inspired by the 2012 London Olympics. The 8-foot by 16-foot installation at the sportswear brand’s Soho flagship features HAZE’s signature star and arrows patterns arranged in an American flag theme. Integrated components include historical symbols from basketball, track and field. The installation can also be broken down into 2-foot by 2-foot individual icons both with and without the letters USA. The original artwork was intended for use in global retail installations throughout the summer, with the actual painting configured specifically for the Soho flagship. HAZE also painted a mural on the store’s main south wall in free flowing india ink.

Erwin Olaf photographs the Fall/Winter 2012-2013 campaign for Bottega Veneta. The campaign is the latest in Bottega Veneta’s creative collaborations that feature the talents of exceptional artists. Tomas Maier, the fashion house’s creative director personally selected Olaf. Maier was drawn to Olaf’s photography by its “formal precision and conceptual inventiveness.”

Stockton Johnson photographs actress Leighton Meester for the August issue of Vogue China. The Gossip Girl star looks heavenly in the softly lit photographs. Johnson captured her at Shanghai’s Peninsula Hotel earlier this year. Meester modeled designs from Chanel, Gucci, and Harry Winston.

Bigshot Toyworks re-imagine the iconic Hostess mascot Twinkie the Kid for Fortune Magazine. The updated, depressed imagining is for the cover story “Hostess is Bankrupt…Again.” The lunchbox snacks company is in bankruptcy court for the second time in a decade, caught in a fight between labor and hedge funds, with no one able to agree on how to restructure.
