JASON MADARA FOR FAST COMPANY
Jason Madara photographs entrepreneur Justin Kan for the July/August 2012 issue of Fast Company. Kan is the man behind SocialCam and Justin.tv. In five years, his business plan has done four complete shifts as he tries anything to make it work. His career is profiled in the magazine’s eight-page story.
Kan’s portrait for the feature required a full transformation from pirate in the tech world to legitimate businessman. Madara collaborated with Leslie Dela Vega and Sarah Fillippi at Fast Company on the concept of a six part composite of Kan’s transformation. With the help of stylist Shannon Amos and hairstylist Dawn Sutti, Madara captured Kan as he went from a mohawked YouTube sensation to a slick, well-dressed businessman. The final image was created in post-production with the help of Madara’s retoucher Rebecca Bausher at Pixel Chick Studios.
The July/August 2012 issue of Fast Company is on newsstands now.
